Jeralyn Lawrence is the Managing Member and Founder of Lawrence Law and one of New Jersey’s leading family law attorneys. A Past President of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Jeralyn devotes her practice exclusively to matrimonial, divorce, and family law matters. She is widely recognized for her leadership, advocacy, and extensive experience handling complex and high-profile family law cases throughout New Jersey.
Jeralyn represents clients in all areas of matrimonial and family law, including divorce litigation, custody and parenting disputes, alimony and child support, property settlement agreements, domestic violence matters, palimony claims, adoption and guardianship issues, and domestic partnerships. She is also a trained collaborative lawyer, divorce mediator, and arbitrator. Her practice includes sophisticated high-net-worth matters involving substantial assets and income, and she has represented celebrities, professional athletes, and other high-profile individuals.
Beyond her practice, Jeralyn has played a major role in shaping family law and the legal profession in New Jersey. She has argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court on behalf of organizations including the New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers New Jersey Chapter on significant family law issues involving alimony, cohabitation, palimony, and child protection matters. She has also been appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to serve on the Disciplinary Oversight Committee, the Wellness Committee, and the Supreme Court Committee on Family Practice. Jeralyn is further certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney, a distinction held by only a select group of attorneys statewide.
As President of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Jeralyn led important statewide initiatives focused on attorney wellness, judicial reform, and modernization of the legal profession. She spearheaded the landmark “Putting Lawyers First” Task Force report addressing attorney mental health and well-being and advocated for numerous court rule and legislative reforms affecting both family law and the broader legal system.
Jeralyn has also served as President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers New Jersey Chapter and the Somerset County Bar Association, and previously chaired the NJSBA Family Law Section, where she helped lead efforts supporting New Jersey alimony reform and the enactment of the Collaborative Law Act. She remains active in legal education and professional leadership, frequently lecturing on family law topics and serving as Senior Editor of New Jersey Family Lawyer.
Her accomplishments have earned extensive recognition, including more than twenty consecutive years on the New Jersey Super Lawyers list, repeated inclusion among the Top 50 Women and Top 100 Attorneys in New Jersey, and longstanding AV Preeminent recognition from Martindale-Hubbell.
