Professional Biography

Jennifer E. Jensen is a Shareholder at ABST Law in Fargo, North Dakota, whose practice is concentrated in family law. She is known for providing thoughtful and practical guidance to individuals and families navigating some of life’s most significant transitions, combining strong advocacy with a commitment to achieving solutions tailored to each client’s circumstances.

Jennifer represents clients in a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody disputes, adoptions, guardianships, conservatorships, and other domestic relations issues. She is also trained in collaborative divorce and is a member of the North Dakota Collaborative Divorce Group, allowing her to assist clients through both traditional litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes.

Before joining ABST Law in 2018, Jennifer practiced family law with another Fargo law firm for three years. Earlier in her career, she served as a law clerk to the judges of the South Central Judicial District and later to the Honorable Ralph R. Erickson, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. These experiences provided her with valuable insight into the judicial process and the effective resolution of family law disputes.

Jennifer earned both a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Dakota in 2009. She later earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2012. During law school, she served in leadership roles with the Law Women’s Caucus, participated in the North Dakota Law Review, and was actively involved in student orientation programs. In recognition of her leadership and contributions, she received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Student Award in 2012.

Jennifer has been recognized by Great Plains Super Lawyers, earning Rising Star honors from 2017 through 2022 and Super Lawyer recognition since 2023. She is licensed to practice in both North Dakota and Minnesota.
