Kendra L. Carpenter, Esq.

Kendra Carpenter is the founder of Carpenter Family Law LLC and a dedicated family law attorney with more than two decades of experience in the legal profession. She is known for combining compassion with practical, strategic guidance, helping clients navigate emotionally difficult family disputes with clarity and confidence.

Kendra’s practice focuses exclusively on family law matters, including divorce, dissolution, legal separation, child custody and visitation, interstate custody disputes, parental kidnapping matters, grandparents’ rights, paternity, domestic violence issues, step-parent adoption, and the enforcement of court orders. She also advises clients on child support and spousal support matters. Throughout her career, she has represented clients across Ohio, always prioritizing their best interests and developing practical solutions tailored to their circumstances.

In addition to her advocacy work, Kendra is certified as a family law specialist by the Ohio Bar Association and is certified by the Ohio Supreme Court as both a custody guardian ad litem and parenting coordinator. She is also a founding member of the American Academy of Certified Financial Litigators, reflecting her experience in the financial complexities often involved in family law disputes.

Kendra is active in the legal community and serves as Vice Chair of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Family Law Committee. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association.

She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Capital University Law School, where she received both the Order of the Barrister and the Order of the Curia honors. She also earned her B.A. from Purdue University.

Kendra is admitted to practice in Ohio, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits, and multiple United States District Courts. Her professional recognition includes selection to Ohio Super Lawyers, Columbus CEO Top Attorneys in Family Law, and Columbus Business First’s Forty Under 40.
