Lauren Crane is a leading matrimonial and family law attorney with Bender & Crane LLP, who represents high-net-worth individuals in a broad range of complex domestic matters.

She advises clients on issues involving equitable distribution of assets, spousal and child support, child custody and access, and prenuptial, postnuptial, and separation agreements. Known for her strategic and measured approach, Lauren works to resolve matters through skilled negotiation and settlement whenever possible, while also serving as a strong advocate in trial and appellate litigation when necessary.

Lauren has extensive experience handling sophisticated matrimonial disputes involving significant financial and personal considerations. In addition to her litigation practice, she is an appointed mediator in New York County and has completed advanced mediation training focused on divorce and child custody matters through both the American Arbitration Association and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In February 2020, she was selected to serve on the New York County Supreme Court’s Roster of Matrimonial Mediators.

Lauren began her legal career as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Ellen L. Koblitz of the Superior Court, Family Division, in New Jersey. She joined Bender & Rosenthal LLP in 2005, where she practiced exclusively in matrimonial and family law, concentrating on high-net-worth matters. In 2022, following more than seventeen years with the firm, she became one of the principal attorneys at Bender & Crane LLP.

She earned her B.A. in English and History from Emory University in 2000 and her J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2003. Lauren is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Lauren is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the New York State Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, the Judge’s and Lawyer’s Breast Cancer Alert, and the American Bar Foundation.
